Used Laptops

Sometimes when I talk about cheap used laptops I feel like I am just regurgitating the same old stuff.  After all what could I talk about on this page about used laptops that you have not already read or seen on your own.  What type of advice -- however small -- could I give you that when you went on your travels to purchase a used laptop would make you a better buyer?

To be a better buyer in the used laptop market you need a company that is reliable and honest with quality product.  When surfing the internet if there was one thing that I could say to you that would be the most help it would be this:

Do not make your purchasing decision based on price alone.

Yes price is an important factor when buying a product like a used laptop.  However do not just buy a laptop because it is the lowest priced laptop you found that fits your needs.  There are other factors that will come into the picture later on if you are to have a successful purchase and in the long term be happy.

I like the way www.cheap-laptops.org put it.  "You always get what you pay for in laptops".  Read their take on cheap laptops.  And although this site is a bit sarcastic it is views and ideas I have to agree with the concept of what they are trying to pass on.  I have seen too many people simply buy a laptop that was cheaply priced but would no way fit the needs of their application.  Which when they tried to use the laptop for what they needed it would not perform.  Of course it is never the users fault that they bought the wrong laptop it is always the company selling it.  Which if that company did not warn the customer then yes it is their fault but in most cases the company selling the laptop has warned the customer.

So how can you determine what you are buying and who you are buying from is reliable and quality product.  Well you should check out the company on the internet.  The Better Business Bureau is a good start as well as any personal references from your friends experiences.

Things like length of time in business and type of warranty that is offered are some good questions to ask.  So not only should you take price as a factor in your decision but also type of company and reputation needs to be considered as well.
